Incredible Wedding Cakes
What makes an incredible, one-of-a-kind, unbelieveable, spectacular, unforgettable wedding cake? We're talking about cakes that are so amazing that your guests will talk about your wedding cake at every wedding reception they attend and for the rest of their lives. Does this sound like something you would like to have at your reception? We think one cakery in Cincinnati can just pull it off.
This cake is seven feet of flowers, crystals and buttercream icing! Designed, baked, and erected by Maribelle Cakery in Cincinnati Ohio. Each of the five tiers was a different flavor. Apparantly it tasted even better than it looked because we heard from the reception hall manager at the Hall of Mirrors that the guests devoured this cake and begged for more! Only $10500.00, excluding delivery and flowers. Maribelle Cakery will deliver and set up cakes like this one just about anywhere in the world. Serves 450.
2008 update: We have learned that Maribelle is now the source in Cincinnati for Kosher Dairy and Pareve wedding cakes.
This cakie was designed for an East Indian wedding. Each tier was dusted with gold dust and suspended with crystals. The topper is a Ganesha, the Indian symbol for good luck. The gold cake stand rests on a Sari-draped table. Maribelle Cakery in Cincinnati Ohio designed this cake for about $5500.00, excluding delivery. Serves 360.
We've chosen this cake to show that not all truly spectacular cakes are large and flashy. This small cake was made for a reception in the Cincinnati Art Museum. The cake designers at Maribelle knew it would be placed in front of this famous painting by Miró. They designed a cake with a modernistic finish and suggested the use of flowers to pick up the colors in the painting. The reason? They knew the painting would be in the background of all the photos. They wanted the cake to make a statement about the bride's taste to her guests. The result is understated elegance and incredible beauty (just like the bride). About $1250.00. Serves 260.
We were amazed when we first saw this cake. Inspired by a Wedgewood china plate design, the cake decorators at Maribelle outdid themselves once again. One of the things that makes this cake so special is that it was executed entirely in buttercream icing. The easy way to do a cake like this would be to cut up pieces of fondant to make this design. Creating it entirely with yummy-tasting chocolate and buttercream is much more difficult, since all the details need to be applied by hand with a pastry bag. The bride's guests were in for a special treat!
